About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Senior Wind Turbine Technician to join their operations team in Vereeniging . This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of wind energy assets. You will perform complex diagnostics, maintenance, and repair activities on wind turbines, often in challenging conditions. While primarily an on-site role, there will be opportunities for remote collaboration on technical documentation and planning.

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, and detailed diagnostic testing on wind turbines.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems within wind turbine components.
• Execute complex component replacements, including gearboxes, generators, and pitch systems, adhering to strict safety protocols.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company policies, environmental regulations, and industry best practices
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, issues, and resolutions using the company's CMMS.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, fostering a culture of skill development and safety.

• National Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or a relevant trade qualification (e.g., Electrician, Fitter & Turner).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a wind turbine technician, with a strong understanding of various turbine technologies.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, test equipment , and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Working at heights certification and a strong commitment to health and safety procedures.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and physical fitness for demanding tasks.
