Our client is seeking an expert Geothermal Energy Specialist to join their team in Nelspruit . This role is vital for exploring, developing, and managing geothermal energy resources, contributing to sustainable energy solutions. You will be involved in site assessment, resource evaluation, project design, and operational oversight, working with a dedicated team committed to harnessing clean energy. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the growth of geothermal power in the region, providing hands‑on experience in a specialized and rapidly expanding field within the energy industry .
Key Responsibilities- Conduct geological surveys and feasibility studies for potential geothermal energy projects.
- Analyze subsurface data to assess the viability and potential output of geothermal reservoirs.
- Design and oversee the development of geothermal wells, power plants, and associated infrastructure.
- Monitor the performance of geothermal energy systems and implement optimization strategies.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards related to geothermal resource development.
- Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and environmental scientists on project planning and execution.
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science field with a specialization in geothermal energy.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in geothermal resource exploration, assessment, and project development.
- Strong understanding of reservoir engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics as applied to geothermal systems.
- Proficiency in geological modeling software and data interpretation techniques.
- Experience with drilling operations and power plant design for geothermal applications.
