About the Role
Our client, a prominent player in the energy market, is seeking a highly strategic and analytical Energy Trader to join their dynamic team, operating primarily on a remote basis. This role is critical for optimizing the company's energy portfolio by trading electricity, natural gas, and other energy commodities in various markets. You will leverage market intelligence, forecasting, and risk management strategies to maximize profitability and ensure security of supply.
This position requires exceptional decision-making skills under pressure and a deep understanding of global energy dynamics.
- Execute trading strategies for electricity, natural gas, and other energy commodities across various exchanges and bilateral markets.
- Monitor market trends, news, and economic indicators to identify trading opportunities and manage risks effectively.
- Develop and maintain relationships with energy suppliers, brokers, and counter parties.
- Utilize sophisticated analytical tools and software to forecast market movements and optimize trading positions.
- Manage portfolio risk, ensuring compliance with trading limits and company policies.
- Provide market insights and analysis to senior management and relevant departments.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- An MBA or Master's in a quantitative discipline is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy trading or commodity trading.
- Proven track record of successful trading in volatile energy markets.
- Strong understanding of energy markets, power systems, and derivatives.
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in trading platforms, risk management systems, and data analysis tools.
