Power Plant Operations Supervisor

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Power Plant Operations Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of their facility in Welkom. This critical role ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable generation of power, adhering to strict operational and safety standards. You will lead a team of skilled operators, manage plant performance, and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize output.

• Supervise and direct the activities of power plant operators, ensuring adherence to all procedures and safety protocols.
• Monitor plant performance indicators, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain optimal efficiency.
• Coordinate planned and unplanned maintenance activities with the engineering and maintenance departments.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards, conducting regular safety inspections and training.
• Manage shift schedules, employee performance, and training development for the operations team.
• Maintain detailed operational logs and prepare reports on plant performance, incidents, and maintenance activities for power generation.

• High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or certification in a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in power plant operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Demonstrated knowledge of power generation equipment (e.g., turbines, boilers, generators) and control systems.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures, environmental regulations, and plant maintenance best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and make critical decisions in operational scenarios within the energy industry.
