JOB PURPOSE

To render a professional technical service through installation, test and evaluation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshoot and repair of control and instrumentation systems / products. This includes ensuring that systems such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, and various sensors and actuators function reliably and meet stringent safety and performance standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12.
• ND:
  Electrical Engineering (Electronics or Instrumentation)
• Btech:
  Electrical Engineering (Electronics or Instrumentation) - (Advantage)

• ECSA Candidate(Advantage)

EXPERIENCE

§ 5-8 Years’ experience as a technician

§ 5-8 Years in wiring Control& Instrumentation panels.

§ Experience in product testing, test specifications and test procedures.

§ Experience in interfacingequipment at signal level.

§ Experience in Electronicdesign.

§ Experience in PLCProgramming and SCADA Systems

§ Experience in Radar,Electronic Warfare and Communications Systems (Advantage)

§ Maintenance and repairs of ships systems:

Electrical, electronic & control systems (Advantage)

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

§ Sound knowledge of products systems and test specifications in thefield of Radio Frequency (RF) systems.

§ Use and operation of RF test equipment.

§ Working knowledge of data acquisitioning processing and reduction.

§ Knowledge of quality systems and calibration standards including international test standards.

§ Knowledge of different signal interface standards (e.g., RS42,NMEA, Asterix etc.) and data capture systems.

§ Knowledge of internet protocols and networking standards (e.g.,TCP/IP UDP VPNs etc.)

§ Knowledge of suppliers and manufacturers in appropriate field.

§ Basic knowledge of MS Office and Outlook.
