Junior Civil Draughtsman

Melis & Du Plessis Consulting Engineers has been a leader in geotechnical engineering and engineering geology for over 40 years, specializing in areas such as dam construction, underground projects, slope stabilization, and rockfall mitigation. Based in Somerset West in the Cape Town Metropolitan area, the company serves a broad client base including government bodies, municipalities, engineering firms, and private developers across Southern Africa.

You will support engineers with CAD drafting, drawing production, terrain modelling, and project data preparation, while also gaining exposure to GIS, photogrammetry, and drone survey data workflows.

This is a junior-level position (1-3 years’ experience) with strong mentorship and development opportunities.

• Civil and geotechnical engineering drawings
• 3D Terrain modelling and surface development
• Survey and GNSS data integration
• GIS and geospatial workflows

• National Diploma in Civil Draughting
• Valid SA Drivers License and own vehicle

You will work directly alongside experienced engineers in a professional consulting environment, with structured mentorship and technical growth built into the role.
