The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our Wessels Mine which represents one of the largest manganese reserves in South Africa.

32 will support assistance for part‑time studies aligned to role requirements and business needs at accredited institutions to eligible employees.

This role is a permanent full‑time position.

As an Operator Hauler/mobile equipment you will be responsible for conducting risk assessment before all tasks and identify risk and hazards.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Participate in investigations into workplace incidents;
• Report any unsafe behaviour, conditions and incident to the responsible person;
• Conduct pre‑use inspections, routine inspections and report defects;
• Operate mobile equipment based on operational requirements.

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in operating mobile equipment in a mining environment;
• Mining production experience in underground mining operation is essential;
• A minimum of two valid equipment licenses on either CAT ADT
  30 Hauler, other relevant licenses ( Rock breaker, Loader, Water bowser, Dozer, Bob Cat, Normet scaler) will be advantageous.

• Grade 10 for internal candidates only and Grade 12 with Mathematics for external employees;
• Valid Code B or C1 Driver’s License is essential;
• Competency A Certificate is advantageous.
