To oversee the engineering maintenance processes within the appointed area of responsibility to enable various mining teams to reach production targets within the principles of QCDSM.

• Manage and carry out engineering and maintenance strategies and overhaul plans on a day‑to‑day basis that ensure that departments KPI's are met, deliver maintenance, and replace/repair equipment when necessary
• Manage maintenance cost versus R/t in appointed area; maintain Maintenance budget
• Ensure availability of equipment by effectively managing downtime/shift/MTTF/MTTR (infrastructure and inspection equipment)
• Ensure adherence to maintenance programme
• Implement operational projects, ensure engineering compliance, and develop and implement engineering Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in the appointed area of responsibility
• Ensure adherence to Engineering principles and legislation
• Compliance with engineering governance bodies (standardisation committees), SOP/COP implementation and adherence
• Assess economics/engineering viability of major engineering business cases and provide specific inspection expertise and coaching
• Carry out condition monitoring programs in appointed area of responsibility
• Compliance with Condition Monitoring program schedules
• Conduct failure trend analysis and root cause elimination
• Execute Predictive Maintenance recommendations (backlog)
• Support departments to achieve set targets by coordinating planning within the appointed area of responsibility
• Control costs to ensure production volumes are achieved within budget
• Ensure best‑in‑class safety performance and continuous improvement of key safety metrics to maintain required RCR
• Ensure SHE compliance rates versus targets (especially major findings, % outstanding actions on findings), Zero harm, Zero fatalities, LWDCR
• Ensure effective recruitment, training, coaching and career development
• Manage vacancy rates against staff establishment (vacancies including)
• Absence due to TSD / PSD, AWOP, successors for critical positions
• Manage team bearing in mind key role turnover rate versus industry average, absenteeism, employee engagement and enablement score (%, Tons/man/year, Monthly bonus targets), training days for department, Planned Task observations

• National Senior Certificate / N3 with Mathematics, Physical Science and English

• Flameproof Certificate
• Gas Testing Certificate

A valid Driver's License
