Your mission as a Product Specialist
Are you passionate about cutting‑edge mining technology? Join Epiroc as a Product Specialist and become the go‑to technical expert for our trackless mining equipment. In this role, you’ll oversee the full lifecycle of our machines including handling installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and preventive and corrective maintenance. You’ll train and mentor operators and maintenance teams to maximise equipment performance and uptime, identify and implement process improvements, and provide technical solutions to complex challenges.
You’ll also manage documentation, support warranty claims, and ensure strict compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
What you’ll do
- Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on trackless mining equipment across hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Diagnose equipment faults, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective solutions to eliminate recurring defects.
- Conduct machine audits, inspections, and Rig Scan assessments to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.
- Support breakdown repairs, critical parts planning, warranty claims, and implementation of technical service bulletins/modifications.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
- Prepare and submit technical reports, failure analyses, weekly status updates, and maintain accurate maintenance documentation.
- Ensure full compliance with safety, health, environmental, and MHSA site requirements while participating in risk assessments and safety meetings.
What you’ll bring
- Grade or Matric with Trade Test (Diesel Mechanic, Earthmoving Mechanic, Millwright, Electro‑Mechanical Engineering), Engineering National N Diploma (N6) is advantageous.
- 1‑2 years’ experience as a master technician or leading hand advantageous.
- Demonstrated expertise in the repair, assembly, rebuilding, and commissioning of machinery.
Who you are
- Strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with experience troubleshooting and repairing trackless mining equipment.
- Proficient in reading technical drawings, schematics, and product catalogues; familiar with underground and surface mining environments.
- Experience with CAN Bus, rig control, automation, and mining equipment technology systems preferred.
- Computer literate with strong analytical, problem‑solving, and teamwork skills; able to work independently when required.
