Our mine, situated in the Limpopo Province about 60 kilometers from Lydenburg and 40 kilometers from Burgersfort, is a world-class producer of Chrome Ore. The successful applicant will report to the General Engineering Superintendent or nominee.

• Grade 12 / Standard 10 Certificate with Maths / Maths literacy.
• Relevant Mechanical Trade Certificate.
• N4 Certificate:
  Engineering Studies.
• Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence.
• Advantageous:
  Supervisory Certificate.

• 3 – 5 years practical relevant trade experience within a heavy industry / mining / production environment.
• Advantageous: 1 – 3 years Supervisory practical experience.

• Ensure equipment availability and reliability through construction and extension of belts and tips by applying relevant technical expertise. Plan, execute and manage the section in line with department/functional requirements to meet business objectives and implement an effective safety health and quality management system to ensure the mine meets legal requirements and continuously strives to improve its inherent risk profile.
• Ensure operational efficiency and quality Control equipment availability.
• Drive (mining) improvement projects relating to conveyor belt extension / construction objectives toward enhancing operations. Ensure equipment optimization by conducting timely investigations, benchmarking and feasibility studies toward identifying deviations / deficiencies proactively. Make recommendations relative to appropriate principles / methodology for conveyor belt extension / construction activities.
• Oversee the contracting services rendered to the entire mine by assisting in developing scope and managing the commercial process to appoint contractors, managing relevant contractors on site, ensuring adherence to rules and regulations, monitoring contractor performance in accordance with SLAs, and maintaining and improving operational supporting systems and procedures including management of contractor performance against service level agreements.
• Maintain and service equipment on assets. Schedule and coordinate projects. Coordinate planned maintenance. Prioritize breakdowns.
• Compile and distribute daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports and documentation.
• Monitor tasks delegated to subordinates to ensure department effectiveness and targets are met.
