Electrical Engineer

Job Description

Design and implement electrical related equipment and project manage it. All activities, roles and responsibilities are aligned to the world class (manufacturing) philosophy, principles and practices.

• Matric (Maths and Science)
• BSc Electrical Engineering

• 6-10 years Industrial Experience
• Lean Six Sigma – Black Belt (advantage)
• Government Ticket (advantage)

• Prevent occupational and process safety incidents by implementing integral safe design principles
• Conduct risk assessments for tasks and process deviations
• Facilitate Design Reviews, risk assessments and Hazop Studies to minimise risks of new projects
• Find root causes and mitigating actions to prevent or eliminate safety incidents

• Process electrical development and design
• Identify electrical deviations, root causes and take corrective action
• Drive focused continuous improvement
• Review expense reports and correct deviations
• Correct electrical performance deviations
• Communicate progress to performance indicators to all levels
• Ensure reliability of processes
• Ensure stability of automation of processes
• Manage costs according to budget
• Provide electrical technical support to production facility and maintenance team
• Provide information for electrical drawings and develop electrical drawings in conjunction with suppliers and maintenance teams
• Continuously improve processes
• Electrical equipment sizing, procurement and commissioning

• Frequent engagement with Production and other relevant stakeholders
• Resource & Project Management
• Factor in safety risk, maintenance costs, capital expense into plans
• Procure electrical equipment
• Test control loops
• Lead in pre, cold and hot commissioning of purely electrical systems (e.g., automation)
• Establish Basis of Design, conduct feasibility studies and be responsible for BEP and manage EPC for projects

• Monitor and take corrective action on quality deviations

• Proper written communication and interpretation
• Prepare papers on Capital expenditure requests detailing financial costs versus benefits for projects
• Write reports, prepare presentations, create graphs from data, send emails, run meetings, text, social media savvy
