Senior Control System Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities

• Design cost-effective solutions that meet customer needs and prepare functional and detailed designs of approved solutions.
• Design system architecture and industrial communication networks for software implementations (Ethernet, fibre, Profinet, etc.).
• Design, develop, test, and implement PLC programs according to client specifications, ensuring optimal functioning.
• Design, develop, test, and implement SCADA and/or HMI applications to client specifications.
• Develop simulation applications for testing and training purposes.
• Test solutions to ensure they are fully functional before delivery.
• Provide post-project system support, callouts, and support under Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Provide training and assistance to clients so they can operate the system within design constraints.

• Degree, Technical Diploma, or NQF equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant industrial automation experience.
• Practical experience in control system design, development, FAT testing, and commissioning.
• Intermediate to advanced PLC programming, with hands-on experience in at least two of:
  Siemens, Schneider, Allen Bradley, Omron, Beckhoff, Mitsubishi.
• Intermediate to advanced SCADA development, with hands-on experience in at least two of:
  Wonderware, Siemens, Schneider, Allen Bradley, Adroit.
• Intermediate to advanced understanding of relational databases and report generation, with practical experience in Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Reporting Services.
• Experience in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Building Management Systems (BMS), and Environmental Management Systems (EMS) advantageous.
• Exposure to the FMCG, Food & Beverage, and Milling industries advantageous.
