Mechanical Project Engineer

Perform engineering duties in planning, material buy-out and implementation of construction projects. Oversee installation, reporting of project progress, commissioning and project close out documentation. Has a good understanding of HVAC, Fire Protection, Plumbing and other Mechanical Systems.

The Mechanical Engineer will play a very active and integral role in the day-to-day activities of the project.

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports.
• Assist drafters in developing shop drawings using drafting tools or computer-assisted design or drafting equipment and software.
• Confer with engineers and other personnel to coordinate construction activity and layouts of utilities.
• Solicit Material Pricing and procurement for different mechanical systems, to include preparation of Cost Evaluation and Purchase Order.
• Monitor Construction Progress and reporting on project costs.
• Prepare all necessary turnover documents (i.e. record drawings, manuals, etc.).
• Commissioning of Mechanical System as the project requires.

• Must be a Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study.
• Familiar with NFPA, ASHRAE, Plumbing Code, LEED and other mechanical construction standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), AutoCAD is a plus.
• Must be able to read and interpret Mechanical Drawings, Plans and Specifications.
• Must have strong oral and written comprehension and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills with ability to meet deadlines.
• Self-Motivated and proactive. Can accomplish tasks without direct oversight.
