What Will You Do?- New equipment selection (of Howden Products) to meet customer specifications and ensure it is fit-for-purpose.
- Evaluate the condition of existing equipment and create repair procedures and reports to produce a reconditioned product that meets standards.
- 3D Scanning and reverse engineering of parts.
- Materials research and selection for part manufacturing.
- Create manufacturing drawings and review QCP’s to ensure accuracy and prevent errors in production.
- Provide engineering solutions to problems encountered by internal and external clients to meet their needs.
- Develop and maintain technical relationships with customers to promote the product range and introduce enhancements to existing equipment.
- Interact with the Chart Product Center Engineers and Technical Support to get resolutions to internal and external problems with equipment.
- Control of the Drawings office to ensure all drawings are filed correctly and drawings are accurate and complete.
- Support the Projects Manager to ensure all engineering aspects on projects are fulfilled according to Chart's standards.
- Support the quality inspectors and participate in improving overall product quality and quality procedures and standards.
- Develop and update Engineering Department documentation (e.g., specifications, design manuals, software) to ensure they are current and relevant.
- Assist the Manufacturing section with manufacturing processes (programming of CNC machines), material selection, procurement procedures, and heat treatment procedures.
- Formal tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering (B-Tech, BEng).
- 3 years’ experience in rotating equipment, especially compressors and turbines.
- Experience in engineering workshop and machining practices.
- Material research and selection experience.
- Ability to demonstrate Howden products/applications/solutions in an open forum (PowerPoint presentations).
- Compressor and Turbine performance evaluation.
- Drafting experience using Inventor software.
- Ability to mentor/guide less experienced staff.
