About the Epiroc Apprenticeship Programme 2026

Epiroc is inviting motivated South Africans to apply for its apprenticeship programme within the Rebuild Department. The programme combines classroom learning with workplace experience to help apprentices develop valuable technical skills required in the engineering industry.

Participants will receive guidance from experienced mentors while working on real engineering projects in a professional workshop environment. Whether your goal is to become a qualified Millwright, Fitter, Turner Machinist or Tool Jig and Die Maker this apprenticeship provides an excellent foundation for your future career.

What You Will Learn

The apprenticeship programme is designed to develop both technical knowledge and workplace skills through structured practical training.

Successful apprentices will gain experience in:

  • Equipment maintenance
  • Machine rebuild processes
  • Mechanical servicing
  • Workshop operations
  • Technical reporting
  • Preventive maintenance
  • Engineering safety procedures
  • Equipment inspections

Participants will also attend formal training sessions, workshops and mentoring programmes throughout the apprenticeship.

As an apprentice you will support daily workshop operations while developing practical engineering skills.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting with equipment maintenance and rebuild projects
  • Performing technical tasks under supervision
  • Participating in practical engineering training
  • Preparing reports and technical documentation
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records
  • Following health and safety procedures
  • Working effectively within engineering teams

This practical exposure helps apprentices develop confidence while building industry‑relevant experience.

Educational Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 National Senior Certificate
  • English and one additional language
  • Mathematics or Technical Mathematics
  • Physical Science
  • At least two additional school subjects
The following subjects will provide an added advantage
  • Engineering Graphics and Design
  • Engineering Drawing

An Engineering Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering will also be advantageous but is not compulsory.

Technical Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Fitting Theory
  • Electrical Theory

Basic knowledge of electronics will be beneficial.

Experience

No formal work experience is required.

However, exposure to any of the following will strengthen an application:

  • Mechanical maintenance
  • Manufacturing environments
  • Technical practical training
