Junior Engineer (8 Positions) – Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC)

EOD: T&D 0015

• BSc in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification
• Zero (0) to two (2) years of relevant experience
• Basic knowledge of power systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution
• Understanding of electrical design tools
• Computer literacy and report‑writing skills
• A valid driver’s licence

• Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of electrical transmission and distribution systems
• Support maintenance activities for substations, transformers, switch gear, and power lines
• Participate in load analysis, fault detection, and system performance monitoring
• Assist in troubleshooting power outages and system failures

• Contribute to engineering projects, including rural electrification and network extension initiatives
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports
• Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with timelines and budgets

• Support preventive and corrective maintenance programmes
• Ensure adherence to electrical safety standards, regulations, and company policies
  
  Participate in safety inspections and risk assessments

• Collect and analyse operational data related to power system performance
• Prepare technical reports and documentation
• Maintain accurate engineering records and system documentation

• Rectify technical issues affecting customers
• Provide technical input during customer connection processes in collaboration with Customer Services and other departments

• Ensure compliance with national electricity regulations and LEC standards
• Support environmental and regulatory compliance initiatives
