Job Summary

The Lead Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading and strengthening the electrical design function within Triz Engineering Solutions, ensuring high‑quality, compliant, and customer‑focused engineering deliverables across commercial vehicle programmes. The role provides technical leadership in automotive electrical systems, including wiring design and controller integration, while overseeing project execution, resource allocation, and team performance. The incumbent drives design governance, conducts internal and customer design reviews, ensures accurate CAD and PDM outputs, and fosters strong customer relationships to deliver projects on time, within scope, and to the highest engineering and compliance standards.

Requirements
  • BEng, BSc or BTech Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 15+ years of post‑graduate engineering design experience, preferably wiring design and controller integration in the automotive electrical design environment.
  • Be willing to travel overseas for variable periods depending on the particular needs at that time.
  • Demonstrated capability in leveraging AI‑enabled engineering and digital tools to strengthen electrical design governance, design review effectiveness, engineering data integrity, resource optimisation, and compliance assurance across complex automotive electrical systems and vehicle programmes.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead a cohesive electrical design team.
  • Implement strategies to optimise team performance and collaboration.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers to prioritise design resource allocation.
  • Ensure efficient utilisation of design resources based on customer requirements.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to engineering personnel.
  • Manage project timelines to achieve milestones and promptly address deviations.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to design engineers.
  • Ensure designs comply with customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Organise and lead internal design reviews to ensure technical soundness.
  • Conduct design reviews with customers and suppliers to validate design integrity.
  • Perform CAD design tasks, including 3D modelling and the creation of 2D drawings.
  • Maintain accurate product data within customer PDM systems.
  • Support custom order engineering requests and prioritise design projects.
  • Oversee administrative tasks, including performance reviews, mentorship, and training.
