Our client is a respected mining organisation operating multiple sites in Mpumalanga's coal mining sector. The company is committed to sustainable mining practices, environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

The successful candidate will oversee environmental compliance across multiple mining sites, ensuring adherence to environmental authorisations, Water Use Licences, and legal requirements. Duties include conducting audits and inspections, managing environmental incidents, engaging contractors and stakeholders, monitoring performance metrics, implementing environmental initiatives, coordinating reporting, delivering training, and driving continuous environmental improvement.

• BSc Honours Degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in environmental compliance and management, preferably within the mining industry.
• Professional registration with SACNASP and/or EAPASA, or eligibility for registration.
• Strong knowledge of South African environmental legislation, including NEMA, Environmental Management Programmes, and Water Use Licence compliance.
• Proven experience in environmental auditing, inspections, contractor management, incident investigations, and environmental reporting
