Drawing Office Manager

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Draughting, Manufacturing, Production Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience within the steel processing, fabrication, laser cutting, CNC, or manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing a technical drawing, estimating, or production engineering team.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, estimating, CAD/CAM systems, nesting, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
• Experience with Solid Works, SigmaNEST, Autodesk Inventor, or similar software will be advantageous.

• Lead and manage the Drawing Office team, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely completion of technical work.
• Oversee estimating, drawing reviews, nesting, programming, and production-ready documentation.
• Collaborate with Sales, Production, and technical teams to ensure efficient project execution.
• Review customer drawings and specifications to confirm manufacturability and support accurate quotations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework, material waste, and production delays.
• Provide technical support to customers and production teams, including site visits when required.
• Coach, mentor, and develop junior draughting staff while promoting accountability and high performance.
