Engineering Lead, Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Environmental Engineer

We are looking for an Engineering Lead to join our Phalaborwa office. This is an exciting opportunity for a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist to combine technical expertise with leadership, client relationship management and business development.

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Phalaborwa office.
• Lead, mentor and develop multidisciplinary teams.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
• Identify and develop opportunities that support sustainable business growth.
• Manage project delivery to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Manage office performance, financial objectives and resource planning.
• Promote collaboration across business units and contribute to a positive, high-performance culture.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 45001:2023, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 9001:2015.
• Comply with applicable legal appointments in terms of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, 1993 and Mine Health & Safety Act No. 29 of 1996.

• BSc/BEng/BTech in Civil Engineering or a related qualification.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng.
• Minimum 7 years’ relevant professional experience in civil engineering.
• Proven experience in engineering design and project delivery, preferably within the mining and/or mine residue sector.
• Experience with Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs), including construction supervision, inspections and/or design.
• Proven project management and technical leadership experience.
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong client relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience contributing to business development and tendering would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of relevant South African legislation, engineering standards and health and safety requirements, particularly within the mining environment.
• Willingness to relocate to Phalaborwa.
