We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mining Metallurgist to join our processing division in Welkom. This critical role involves overseeing the complex metallurgical processes required to extract gold from ore with maximum efficiency and minimal environmental impact. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing plant performance, managing reagent consumption, and leading technical investigations into process deviations. This position requires a deep understanding of mineral processing circuits, including crushing, grinding, leaching, and recovery stages.

As a leader within the technical team, you will drive innovation and implement best practices to ensure our operations remain competitive and sustainable in a fluctuating market.

• Optimize metallurgical recovery rates through continuous monitoring and process adjustment.
• Lead technical audits and investigations into plant performance and recovery losses.
• Manage the design and implementation of new metallurgical testing protocols.
• Oversee reagent management and cost-control strategies within the processing plant.
• Collaborate with the mining department to ensure ore quality meets processing requirements.
• Supervise junior metallurgists and technicians to foster technical growth.

A minimum of 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in a large-scale gold mining or mineral processing environment is required. Proven experience in optimizing complex metallurgical circuits and leading technical teams is essential for success in this role.
