Junior Draughtsperson

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Are you technically minded, detail-oriented, and passionate about design and 3D modelling?

A growing organisation in Pinetown is looking for a Junior Draughtsperson to join their team and assist with the design, fabrication, assembly, and installation of mechanical products.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build their technical career, with the potential to grow into technical sales and design engineering over time.

• Produce accurate fabrication and shop drawings for manufacturing and assembly
• Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings using Solid Works
• Develop clear and easy-to-follow assembly and installation manuals
• Assist with quoting, parts ordering, and project costing
• Support quality control and project schedule planning
• Liaise with workshop, design, and sales teams to ensure drawings meet project requirements
• Maintain a high standard of accuracy, neatness, and technical detail across all drawings and documentation

• Strong technical drawing and 3D modelling skills
• Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Draughting, or a related field – or equivalent practical experience
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software, particularly Solid Works
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Word
• Excellent attention to detail and a technically minded approach to problem-solving
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and simply
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
• Experience with Adobe Illustrator or similar graphic design software will be advantageous
• Experience creating assembly or installation manuals will be advantageous
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related qualification will be advantageous
