Field Support Engineer - Telecoms

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Field Support Engineer to join their remote technical operations team. This crucial role involves providing on-site technical assistance and advanced troubleshooting for telecommunications network equipment and infrastructure across various customer locations. As a remote engineer, you will be dispatched to customer sites as needed, acting as a critical escalation point for complex technical issues within the telecoms sector .

This position demands a proactive individual with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to ensuring network reliability and customer satisfaction, all managed remotely but with field-based responsibilities.

• Provide expert on-site technical support for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications hardware and software.
• Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, including hardware failures, software glitches, and configuration problems.
• Perform system upgrades, patches, and preventative maintenance on network equipment in the field.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex telecommunications systems , including routers, switches, servers, and transmission equipment.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, wireless technologies, and fiber optics.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and techniques for network performance analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, customer-facing demeanor, and the ability to work independently and manage travel effectively.
