Project Engineer - Chemical Projects

About the Role

Our client requires a skilled and experienced Project Engineer to manage and execute diverse chemical projects from conception through to completion in Benoni . This role involves coordinating all aspects of project lifecycle, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover. You will work closely with stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required safety and quality standards.

This is a key role for driving growth and operational improvements through successful project delivery.

• Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of chemical engineering projects.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Manage project risks, issues, and changes effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee procurement processes, contractor selection, and performance management.
• Ensure all project activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate project status, progress, and challenges to stakeholders regularly.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in project management within the chemical industry or similar process industries.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
• Experience in managing capital projects, including design, procurement, and construction phases.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
