Senior Chemical Plant Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Chemical Plant Engineer to oversee and manage operations at their facility in Klerksdorp . This role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to operational excellence. You will be responsible for ensuring the plant runs efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. This is a key on-site position, directly involved in the day-to-day management and long-term strategic planning of the chemical manufacturing operations, leading a team of engineers and technicians.

• Manage daily operations of the chemical plant, optimizing production efficiency and resource utilization.
• Oversee plant maintenance, turnaround planning, and execution to minimize downtime.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers and plant technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for plant operations.
• Collaborate with the engineering and R&D departments on process upgrades and new technology integration.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in chemical plant operations and management.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale chemical production facilities.
• Strong understanding of plant safety systems, regulatory compliance, and environmental management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with maintenance management systems and process control strategies.
