About the Role
Our client, a leading provider of industrial automation solutions, is seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to support their operations in and around Klerksdorp. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex automation systems at client sites. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring maximum uptime and performance of automated machinery and processes.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing position requiring significant travel within the region, offering the chance to work with cutting-edge technology and build strong client relationships within various industrial sectors.
- Install, commission, and service industrial automation equipment, including robotics, PLCs, and HMI systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Provide on-site technical support and training to clients on the operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Document service activities, including detailed reports on repairs, maintenance, and client interactions.
- Collaborate with the internal engineering and sales teams to ensure customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for system upgrades.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and environmental regulations at all client sites.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer or in a similar technical support role.
- Strong hands-on experience with industrial automation systems, PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), and robotics.
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory and occasionally internationally.
