About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and experienced Aviation Safety Officer to join their dedicated team in Benoni . This role is paramount in ensuring that all aviation operations adhere to the highest safety standards and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

This hybrid position allows for flexibility, combining essential on-site duties with remote analysis and reporting, contributing to the overall safety framework in Gauteng .

• Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's Safety Management System (SMS).
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments of operations and facilities.
• Investigate incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Promote safety awareness and deliver safety training to all levels of staff.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure the organization's compliance with all aviation safety laws.
• Prepare safety reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Safety Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Aviation Safety Officer or in a similar safety-critical role.
• In-depth knowledge of ICAO Annex 19, EASA, and SA-CAA safety regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
