About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Wireless Network Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Benoni . This hybrid role requires a balance of on-site presence for critical infrastructure work and remote flexibility for design, planning, and support. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting of advanced wireless networks that support our client's expanding operations across Gauteng .

This position is key to ensuring seamless, secure, and high-performance wireless connectivity for our users and systems. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in wireless technologies and a proactive approach to network management.

Key Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level wireless networks (Wi-Fi, cellular, etc.) across multiple locations.
Conduct site surveys and spectrum analysis to identify optimal placement and configuration for wireless access points.
Troubleshoot complex wireless network issues, including connectivity, performance, and security problems.
Implement and maintain wireless security protocols, such as WPA3, RADIUS, and NAC.
Monitor wireless network performance and capacity, making recommendations for upgrades and optimizations.
Collaborate with IT security and infrastructure teams to ensure integrated network solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in wireless network engineering and design.
In-depth knowledge of Wi-Fi standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax), protocols, and RF principles.
Hands-on experience with enterprise wireless solutions from vendors like Cisco Meraki, Aruba, or Ruckus.
Proficiency in using wireless diagnostic tools and site survey software.
Strong understanding of network security concepts as they apply to wireless environments.
