Electrical Engineer - Industrial

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proficient Electrical Engineer with a focus on Industrial Applications to join their team in Vereeniging . This role is integral to designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical systems within industrial environments, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance. You will work on a variety of projects, from plant upgrades to new equipment installations, collaborating closely with production, maintenance, and management teams.

• Design and implement electrical systems for industrial machinery and process control applications.
• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for control panels and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults on production lines and machinery, minimizing downtime.
• Conduct electrical safety audits and ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., OHS Act ).
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop preventative maintenance schedules for electrical equipment.
• Manage electrical aspects of small to medium-sized capital projects, from conception to completion.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in an industrial electrical engineering role.
• Proficiency with PLC programming (e.g., Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development.
• Strong knowledge of industrial motor controls, variable speed drives, and power distribution systems.
• Experience with electrical CAD software and electrical safety testing equipment.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities in an industrial context.
