Subsea Engineer - Oilfield Services

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proficient Subsea Engineer to enhance their oilfield services capabilities in Klerksdorp. This role is integral to the design, installation, and maintenance of subsea production systems used in offshore oil and gas operations. You will be involved in ensuring the integrity and reliability of complex subsea equipment and infrastructure. The position requires a strong understanding of subsea engineering principles, materials, and project management, often employing a hybrid work model to manage both offshore support and onshore design and planning responsibilities within the demanding oil and gas sector.

• Design and specify subsea equipment, including structures, pipelines, and associated components.
• Develop installation procedures and supervise offshore execution activities.
• Conduct technical analyses, including FEA, to ensure the structural integrity of subsea systems.
• Manage subsea field development projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and vendors.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues with subsea equipment during production.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Naval Architecture, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in subsea engineering, preferably within offshore oil and gas.
• Strong knowledge of subsea hardware, umbilical systems, and ROV operations.
• Experience with relevant design and analysis software.
• Proven project management skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
