Senior Reservoir Engineer - Oil and Gas

About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the oil and gas sector , is seeking a highly experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their team in Benoni . This critical role involves analyzing and managing oil and gas reservoirs to maximize economic recovery through the application of engineering principles and advanced simulation techniques. You will work closely with exploration, production, and economics teams to develop optimal field development strategies.

• Develop and maintain dynamic reservoir models using specialized simulation software.
• Analyze reservoir performance, production data, and well logs to assess reservoir characteristics and estimate reserves.
• Plan and recommend drilling programs , workovers, and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) projects.
• Conduct economic evaluations of development and production strategies to optimize project value.
• Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and production engineers to create integrated field development plans.
• Prepare technical reports, reserve estimates, and presentations for management and stakeholders.

• Master’s degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering within the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Petrel RE, CMG).
• Strong understanding of reservoir characterization, fluid flow in porous media, and enhanced oil recovery techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with data analysis and uncertainty assessment in reservoir management.
