About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking automotive technology company based in Benoni , is seeking a talented Automotive Systems Engineer . This role involves the design, integration, and validation of complex automotive systems, potentially including powertrain, chassis, or advanced electronics. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and testing departments, to ensure seamless system performance and compliance with industry standards.

This hybrid position offers the flexibility to work remotely on certain tasks while collaborating in person with colleagues on critical projects, contributing to the development of next-generation vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define system requirements and architecture for automotive components and subsystems.
  • Develop and validate system designs, ensuring integration with other vehicle modules.
  • Create and maintain system specifications, technical documentation, and test plans.
  • Conduct system-level testing and analysis, identifying and resolving integration issues.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to manage the development lifecycle of automotive components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to system performance and functionality.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262) and other relevant regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in automotive systems engineering or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of automotive architectures and component interactions.
  • Experience with system modeling tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) and requirements management software.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols and diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment.
