Process Engineer - Chemical Plant

About the Role

Our client, a leading chemical manufacturing company, is seeking a skilled Process Engineer for their facility in Vereeniging. This hybrid position involves optimizing chemical processes, ensuring safety and efficiency, and contributing to the continuous improvement of production operations. You will work closely with production teams and management to troubleshoot issues, implement process modifications, and drive innovation in chemical manufacturing. • Analyze and optimize existing chemical processes to improve yield, quality, and efficiency.
• Design and implement process improvements, including equipment modifications and automation solutions.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including P&IDs, operating procedures, and batch records.
• Troubleshoot process upsets and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with research and development teams on new product introductions and process scale-up.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Process Engineer in a chemical manufacturing or similar industrial setting.
• Solid understanding of chemical engineering principles, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
• Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) is advantageous.
• Familiarity with safety standards and environmental regulations in the chemical industry.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
