Plant Industrial Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Plant Industrial Engineer to enhance operational performance at their facility in Vereeniging. This role is hands-on, focusing on the analysis, design, and implementation of improvements to production processes, plant layout, and material flow. You will work closely with production staff and management to identify and eliminate waste, improve efficiency, and ensure a safe working environment.

The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with a strong understanding of manufacturing principles and a commitment to driving tangible operational enhancements.

• Analyze current plant operations to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains.
• Design and optimize plant layouts, workstations, and material handling systems for maximum productivity.
• Develop and implement production control strategies and scheduling methods.
• Conduct time studies, work sampling, and other methods to improve operational efficiency.
• Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kanban, and Poka-Yoke.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to address equipment and process issues.

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer, preferably in a plant environment.
• Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and tools.
• Proficiency in process analysis, simulation, and data visualization tools.
• Experience with production planning and scheduling systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
