Senior Process Engineer - Chemical Manufacturing

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Process Engineer to enhance their operations in Klerksdorp . This role is integral to optimizing the efficiency, safety, and quality of chemical manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for process design, troubleshooting, debottlenecking, and implementing improvements across various production lines. The position requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to apply chemical engineering principles to solve complex industrial challenges, working within a hybrid model that blends on-site expertise with off-site planning.

• Design, develop, and scale up chemical processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct process simulations and modeling using software such as Aspen Plus or HYSYS.
• Troubleshoot operational issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions for process improvements.
• Develop and optimize operating procedures and provide technical support to production teams.
• Lead process safety management (PSM) initiatives, including HAZOP studies and risk assessments.
• Manage process improvement projects, from conceptualization through to implementation and validation.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering within the chemical manufacturing sector .
• Proven experience in process design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with process simulation software and statistical analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
