About the Role
Our client is looking for a proficient Mechanical Engineer with expertise in HVAC systems to join their team in Vereeniging. This hybrid role involves designing, developing, and implementing advanced heating, ventilation, and air conditioning solutions for various commercial and industrial applications. You will contribute to projects that require a deep understanding of thermal dynamics, fluid mechanics, and system integration, working both remotely and on-site to ensure optimal project outcomes.

- Design and engineer HVAC systems, including selecting appropriate components like chillers, boilers, air handling units, and ductwork.
- Develop system layouts, schematics, and specifications using CAD software and relevant engineering tools.
- Perform calculations for heating and cooling loads, airflow rates, and energy efficiency.
- Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems.
- Conduct site visits for installation supervision, commissioning, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and energy regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical design, with a specialization in HVAC systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software for drafting and design.
- Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and psychrometrics.
- Experience with HVAC system simulation and energy modeling tools is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, managing tasks remotely and collaborating on-site when needed.
