About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drilling Engineer to join their technical team in Benoni . This role is responsible for the planning, execution, and optimization of drilling operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will work closely with drilling supervisors, geologists, and service providers to design well programs, manage resources, and mitigate risks. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of drilling hydraulics, well control, and directional drilling techniques.

- Design and plan well programs, including casing and cement programs, directional plans, and drilling fluid strategies.
- Calculate and specify required drilling equipment and materials to meet operational needs.
- Prepare daily drilling reports and monitor drilling performance against program objectives.
- Identify and troubleshoot drilling problems, such as lost circulation, kicks, and stuck pipe.
- Manage costs associated with drilling operations and seek opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all HSSE regulations and company policies throughout the drilling process.
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in oil and gas drilling engineering .
- Strong knowledge of drilling hydraulics, well control principles, and cementation.
- Experience with directional drilling planning and execution is required.
- Proficiency in drilling software and tools (e.g., Well View, Stress Check).
