Senior Tool Designer; Dual Discipline

What You'll Be Driving

Design and development of high-precision injection moulds and metal press tools Creation of full 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings Development of progression die layouts and tooling strategies DFM reviews, Moldflow analysis, and formability simulations Technical collaboration with toolmakers and engineering teams during build phases Support of tool trials, optimisation initiatives, and continuous improvement projects Maintenance of design standards, version control, and technical documentation

You possess more than software expertise.

You understand tooling from a manufacturing perspective and know how design decisions ultimately influence production efficiency, quality, maintenance requirements, and project cost.

• A minimum of 5 years' experience designing both injection moulds and metal press tools Strong experience with progressive die design and strip layout development Tool, Jig & Die Maker experience Advanced proficiency in Mastercam (2022 or later) Strong CAD capability using Solid Works and/or Autodesk Fusion Excellent understanding of GD&T principles Deep knowledge of tool steels, heat treatment processes, and polymer characteristics Practical understanding of CNC machining, wire cutting, EDM, and toolroom operations The ability to solve complex manufacturing challenges and deliver practical engineering solutions
