About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative Senior Chemical Research Engineer to contribute to their advanced development initiatives in Klerksdorp . This hybrid role involves conducting cutting-edge research, developing new chemical products and processes, and scaling up laboratory findings to pilot and commercial production. You will work in a collaborative environment, leveraging your expertise in chemical synthesis, characterization, and process development. Key Responsibilities- Lead research projects focused on developing novel chemical compounds and materials.
- Design and execute experiments for process development and optimization, from lab scale to pilot plant.
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques for characterization of chemical products.
- Scale up processes, identifying and mitigating potential challenges in manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, and marketing.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, patent applications, and research publications.
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in chemical research and development, with a focus on process scale-up.
- Proven track record in chemical synthesis and process optimization.
- Expertise in analytical instrumentation (e.g., GC-MS, HPLC, NMR).
- Strong understanding of pilot plant operations and manufacturing challenges.
- Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills.
