About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Subsurface Engineer to join their innovative team, supporting operations near Klerksdorp. This role focuses on the integrated analysis of geological, reservoir, and production data to optimize asset performance and drive value creation. You will be instrumental in evaluating development opportunities, managing risks, and contributing to strategic decision-making within the Oil & Gas sector.
This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives on complex problem-solving and desires a significant impact, offering a hybrid work arrangement for enhanced flexibility.
- Integrate geological, geophysical, and engineering data to build comprehensive subsurface models.
- Evaluate and recommend strategies for field development, enhanced oil recovery, and production optimization.
- Perform economic evaluations and uncertainty analysis for various subsurface scenarios.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including geologists, reservoir engineers, and operations personnel.
- Develop technical justifications and business cases for capital expenditure proposals.
- Mentor junior subsurface engineers and contribute to technical standards and best practices.
- Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geophysics, or a related subsurface discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in subsurface evaluation and asset development in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong proficiency in reservoir simulation, well performance analysis, and economic modeling software.
- Excellent understanding of geological concepts, petrophysics, and reservoir characterization techniques.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Experience with data visualization and interpretation tools is advantageous.
