About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Lead Automotive Performance Engineer to join their high-performance vehicle division in Klerksdorp . This leadership role requires a deep understanding of engine tuning, chassis dynamics, and overall vehicle performance optimization. You will lead a team of engineers focused on enhancing vehicle performance, conducting rigorous testing, and translating performance goals into tangible product improvements.

- Lead the design, development, and testing of vehicle performance systems, including engine calibration, suspension tuning, and aerodynamic enhancements.
- Oversee and conduct on-track and on-road testing, meticulously analyzing data to optimize vehicle performance metrics.
- Manage and mentor a team of performance engineers, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and marketing, to ensure performance targets are met.
- Develop and implement new methodologies and technologies for automotive performance improvement.
- Prepare detailed performance reports and present findings to senior management.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a specialization in automotive performance.
- Significant experience (7+ years) in automotive performance engineering, with proven leadership capabilities.
- Expertise in engine tuning software, data acquisition systems, and simulation tools.
- Strong knowledge of chassis dynamics, suspension geometry, and aerodynamic principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to effectively lead and motivate a technical team.
