Flight Test Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and adventurous Flight Test Engineer to join their dedicated team in Vereeniging . In this critical role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing flight tests for new and modified aircraft systems. You will work closely with pilots, engineers, and technicians to gather performance data and ensure the safety and efficacy of aviation technologies.

• Plan and develop flight test objectives, procedures, and instrumentation requirements.
• Participate in pre‑flight briefings and post‑flight debriefings with flight crews and engineering teams.
• Monitor flight test execution, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and test plans.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret flight test data to assess system performance and identify potential issues.
• Prepare comprehensive flight test reports, documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with design engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during flight testing.

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in flight test engineering or a closely related role.
• Strong understanding of aircraft systems, aerodynamics, and flight dynamics.
• Experience with flight test instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and analysis tools.
• Knowledge of aviation safety regulations and flight test best practices.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities, communication skills, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure.
