About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Chemical Process Engineer to join their project execution team based in Vereeniging . This role is focused on the design, development, and implementation of new chemical processes and plant modifications. You will be responsible for managing projects from conception through to commissioning, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and safety standards. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who thrives on bringing complex projects to life and making tangible improvements to manufacturing infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the detailed design and engineering of chemical process systems for capital projects.
- Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
- Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and start-up of new process equipment and systems.
- Provide technical support during the operational phase of projects and assist with troubleshooting.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
- 3-5 years of experience in project engineering or process design within the chemical or related industries.
- Solid understanding of process design principles, equipment selection, and project management methodologies.
- Experience with process simulation software and CAD tools.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage technical risks.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
