About the Role
Our client is seeking a driven Project Chemical Engineer to manage and execute chemical engineering projects within their Vereeniging operations. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and strong leadership to deliver projects on time and within budget. You will be responsible for all phases of project development, from conceptualization and design to implementation and commissioning, ensuring that projects meet safety, quality, and operational objectives.
This is a key position for driving strategic improvements and new capital installations within the chemical manufacturing sector.
- Manage chemical engineering projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and schedule.
- Develop project plans, define project requirements, and coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
- Oversee the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of new chemical process equipment and systems.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for project-related hazards.
- Ensure all project activities comply with relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to project teams, including engineers and technicians.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in project engineering or project management within the chemical industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing capital projects from conception to closeout.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and engineering design principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with project scheduling software and cost estimation techniques for projects in Vereeniging.
