About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative Industrial Engineer with expertise in Facilities and Layout Design to join their team in Nelspruit . This hybrid role is crucial for optimizing the physical space and flow of operations, ensuring maximum efficiency, safety, and productivity. You will be responsible for analyzing existing facilities, designing new layouts, and implementing improvements to material flow, equipment placement, and workspace utilization.
The role requires a blend of on-site assessments and design work, combined with remote modeling and analysis, to create efficient and ergonomic work environments.
- Analyze current facility layouts and operational workflows to identify areas for improvement.
- Design optimal factory and warehouse layouts using CAD software and simulation tools.
- Develop plans for equipment placement, material handling systems, and workspace ergonomics.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to ensure designs meet functional and regulatory requirements.
- Implement layout changes, overseeing installation and verifying effectiveness.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed facility modifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering , with a significant focus on facility layout and design.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works) for layout design.
- Experience with simulation software for modeling material flow and process optimization.
- Strong understanding of ergonomics, safety standards, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Excellent spatial reasoning, visualization, and problem-solving skills.
