About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Telecoms Field Technician with a specialization in 5G technologies to join their progressive team, working remotely with occasional site visits required. This role is essential for the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of 5G network infrastructure across Mpumalanga. You will play a crucial part in bringing next-generation connectivity to the region, working with the latest advancements in mobile technology.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on technician to contribute to the expansion of 5G services in a flexible, remote-first environment.
- Install, commission, and maintain 5G base stations and associated equipment.
- Perform site surveys and prepare technical reports for new installations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to 5G infrastructure, ensuring high service availability.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance and system checks.
- Work with network monitoring tools to identify and address performance bottlenecks.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures during field operations.
- Technical qualification or certification in Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Telecoms Field Technician, with specific experience in 5G deployment and maintenance.
- Proficiency with relevant tools and equipment for mobile network installation and testing.
- Solid understanding of RF principles, cellular network architecture, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to travel to various sites as needed, despite a primarily remote role.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
