Senior Reservoir Engineer - Energy Exploration

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their exploration and production team in Nelspruit . This critical role will focus on analyzing and optimizing the performance of oil and gas reservoirs, as well as evaluating potential for new energy resources. You will be responsible for developing reservoir models, forecasting production, and recommending strategies for enhanced recovery.

• Develop and maintain detailed reservoir models using industry-standard simulation software.

• Evaluate reservoir performance and recommend strategies for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) or other resource optimization techniques.
• Conduct economic analysis of reservoir development plans and potential projects.
• Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and drilling engineers to integrate subsurface data.
• Stay abreast of the latest technologies and best practices in reservoir engineering and energy resource management.

• Master's degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in reservoir engineering , with a strong background in energy exploration and production.
• Proven expertise in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, CMG).
• Solid understanding of petrophysics, geology, and production operations.
• Experience with unconventional reservoirs and emerging energy sources is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
