About the Role
Our client, a leader in the petrochemical sector, is looking for a skilled and dedicated Process Engineer to join their operations in Nelspruit. This role is vital for optimizing and troubleshooting complex chemical processes within their refining and production facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance, contributing directly to the company's success in producing high-quality petrochemical products.

- Monitor and optimize continuous and batch chemical processes to maximize throughput and minimize costs.
- Conduct root cause analysis for process upsets and implement sustainable solutions.
- Perform process simulations and modeling to evaluate design changes and operational improvements.
- Develop and update process documentation, including P&IDs, operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and project teams to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.
- Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and Management of Change (MOC) reviews.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience as a process engineer in the petrochemical or oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of unit operations such as distillation, reaction engineering, and heat transfer.
- Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., HYSYS, PRO/II) and data analysis tools.
- Experience with process safety management (PSM) principles and practices.
