About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Senior Chemical Engineer with expertise in environmental compliance to join their organization on a fully remote basis. This role is essential for ensuring all operations meet stringent environmental regulations and sustainability goals. You will lead initiatives related to waste management, emissions control, and pollution prevention, developing and implementing strategies to minimize environmental impact. The ideal candidate is passionate about sustainability, possesses deep knowledge of environmental laws and best practices, and can effectively manage compliance programs from a remote setting, driving environmental stewardship across all company activities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies for environmental compliance, waste reduction, and pollution prevention.
- Monitor and report on environmental performance, ensuring adherence to permits and regulations.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and develop mitigation plans.
- Oversee the design and operation of environmental control systems (e.g., wastewater treatment, air pollution control).
- Stay updated on evolving environmental legislation and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and training on environmental matters to relevant teams.
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in environmental engineering or compliance within the chemical industry.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations (e.g., air quality, water discharge, hazardous waste).
- Experience with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
- Proven ability to manage environmental projects and initiatives effectively.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills suitable for a remote role.
