About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join their team based in Nelspruit . This role will focus on conducting detailed site investigations and providing expert geotechnical assessments for a variety of construction projects across Mpumalanga. You will be responsible for planning and executing field investigations, analyzing soil and rock samples, and preparing comprehensive reports with design recommendations. Working in a hybrid capacity allows for field flexibility and office-based analysis, supporting the region's growing development needs.

- Plan, coordinate, and execute field geotechnical investigations, including site reconnaissance and sampling.
- Oversee drilling operations and ensure proper data collection methods are employed.
- Perform laboratory testing and interpret results to determine soil and rock properties.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical investigation reports, including recommendations for foundations, earthworks, and slope stability.
- Provide technical guidance to clients and project teams on geotechnical matters.
- Ensure all investigations and reporting comply with relevant industry standards and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in geotechnical site investigations.
- Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and engineering geology.
- Proficiency in geotechnical data interpretation and report writing.
- Experience with various site investigation techniques and equipment is essential.
- Ability to manage multiple investigation projects simultaneously and work independently.
